Jennifer Helia DeFelice

Jennifer Helia DeFelice, originally from New York, has been a resident of the Czech Republic and involved in the cutural life of Brno for over 20 years. After having briefly sudied at the New School For Social Research, Parsons School of Design, she subsequentially enrolled at Empire State College, State University of New York. The nature of the experiential learning program allowed for mobility and credited skills learned through life experience. She received her undergraduate degree in New Media: Employment and Development. In 1993 she relocated to Brno to work unofficially as an assistant at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Brno University of Technology in theVideo-Performance-Multimedia Studio. From 1999-2004 she studied at the renamed Photo-Performance Department and received a Master's Degree which dealt with the overlapping fields of performance, improvization and field recording. She currently teaches and is a doctoral candidate at FaVU where her sphere of expertise is in early video and performance art.
