Since he was 8-9 years old, Master Benedetto Norcia expressed a passionate attraction in arts. On the walls of his family's house, several photographic reproductions of Sistine Chapel's vault were placed: the figures subjugated him; occasionally he tried to reproduce the magic embedded in those enigmatic and strong figures as simply childhood results.
As child, he already was convinced to have the ability to understand, both in technically and poetically meanings, what he was looking at.
Moreover, he had the luck to meet Pino Anselmo, artist from Monreale (Palermo), and to attend his painting and mosaic workshop where he started discovering his passion.
Since his very first attempts, he was aware that this was his rightest way of life and, from that moment on, forty years have passed in a flash: years full of activities, both educational (Art Institute for the mosaic in Monreale, Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo and Milan) and professional.
Since 1983, he deals with painting restoration, mosaics and sculptures.
In 1986, his first exhibition of paintings took place in Monreale.
Therefore, in 1989 he run the restoration of liberty mosaic frieze at the "Assicurazioni Generali Venezia” in Palermo, along with the Maestro Pino Anselmo in his atelier in Monreale.
He moved from Monreale to Milan where he collaborated with a big company of restoration.
His latest work consisted in opening many exhibitions both in Italy and in Switzerland, as operating decorative artistic interventions in public and private buildings.
A massive exhibition of his masterpieces took place in Milan in 1993, before moving to Switzerland, where he opened his own Atelier of painting - sculpture - mosaic - engraving and restoration.
In 2009 a big exhibition of his works took place in Bellinzona (Switzerland)
In 2011 he run the restoration of a monumental mosaic at the customs of Chiasso (Switzerland).
2012 opening atelier at the Castle of Milazzo (Sicily).
2013 exhibition at the Castel of Milazzo and Capitaniale hall in Caltagirone, participation at the Biennial Italian artists at Zhou Brothers Art Center in Chicago.
2014 exhibition at Kaiserstejnsky palác in Prague, in Headquarters of the Order of Architects in Messina and in Villa Amoretti in Turin.
2015 exhibition at Verdura Resort Sciacca - Sicily
2016 opening atelier in Brno – Czech republic.
